Invisible Tracks – Solo show at threewalls

May 15th – June 19th 2009, 6-9pm
Artist Talk: May 28th, 2009, 6pm

In Invisible Tracks McLean sources recent Internet images of Iraq for a series of videos where the image is pulled apart, erased, delineated and reassembled in an effort to negotiate the convoluted relationship of spectatorship to empathy. Typically hidden from view, procedural tools used for retouching and manipulating photographs become incorporated into the images, a reminder that the image is capable of being altered and changed continuously and without trace.

ART Chicago – Somewhere only we know

Somewhere only we know will screen as part of New Insight.

Susanne Ghez, director of the Renaissance Society and guest curator for New Insight has selected works by the following MFA candidates for inclusion in New Insight, one of Art Chicago’s most anticipated onsite exhibitions. Each selected student has made it through an extensive and highly competitive selection process that begins within their own department. Together these works provide an extraordinary opportunity to see fresh ideas and innovative works by a new generation of talented young artists coming out of a broad and diverse spectrum of elite graduate programs.
